For registered customers, our Auto Transport Quote provides estimated transit time along with service options. ShipCarsNow offers several ways to ship your cars. In many cases, the cost savings from using intermodal rail auto transport can make the extra time in transit more than worthwhile.
YES! ShipCarsNow offers complete car hauling solutions that take the hassle out of auto transport and enable car dealers and remarketers to focus on buying and selling instead of worrying about auto shipping.
ShipCarsNow can use truck, rail, vessel and driveaway services to meet your car hauling needs. Other times, cars are picked up by truck, transferred to rail, and then delivered by a driveaway service.
We’re experts at moving large quantities of vehicles in a timely manner to make an auction date or ship sailing, or to distribute a fleet to multiple business locations.
It's as easy as one call to ShipCarsNow. We make it easy to ship a car by train. Car dealers and Remarketers can extend their trading reach with rail to buy or sell more cars online. ShipCarsNow coordinates the entire move from door-to-door, including local pick-up, enclosed auto transport by rail, and final delivery. YES. Over 70% of all new vehicles sold in North America move to market by rail, and more than 99% arrive damage-free. ShipCarsNow makes using rail easy with one-stop, door-to-door management of the process. We provide online tracking of your shipments and realistic ETA's that enable you to manage your business more effectively. Customers should recognize that using multiple transportation modes to move a vehicle (i.e. truck-rail) may take longer than moving a shipment truck-direct, but the savings can be significant and more than compensate for the added transit time.
You can ship one or thousands. If you have one car to ship, we can handle it; and our exclusive car hauling network is also equipped to handle large volume shipments. Usually you get the best price if you can ship a full truck or railcar load. However, in many lanes, we have the ability to provide you the full-load discount for a single car shipment. Give us a call! We want to understand your business so we can offer affordable auto transport services that fit your unique business needs.

- Keys: Make sure to provide a complete set of keys for your car hauler (ignition, trunk and glove box keys). This is also a DOT requirement. In the event a car hauler is questioned, this will keep him in compliance with transport regulations.
- Removable Components: Car phones, many GPS systems, and stereo face plates are removable. Remember to remove these items from your car before shipping.
- Antennas: If you have antennas for your CB, radio or cell phone that can be removed, take them down. When possible, lower retractable antennas to prevent them from breaking off.
- Spoilers/Fog Lights/Luggage Racks: Detach anything that is removable from the exterior of the car. This will help the car hauler when loading/unloading and will prevent damage to your auto accessories.
- Gas Level: A car should only have about ¼ tank of gas when it is being shipped. This reduces the weight of the car hauler on the road and provides added safety.
- Check Fluid Levels: Prepare your car for a change in weather when shipping to a diverse climate. It is a good idea to check antifreeze and other fluid levels before transport.
- Car Alarms: Disable the car alarm prior to shipping. Your car is likely to feel a few bumps along the way, and if the alarm is activated during transport, it could wear down the battery. If a car hauler has to recharge the battery before moving the vehicle, this could cost you additional time and money.
- A Clean Car: Washing your car prior to transport will help you detail the vehicle’s condition for the Pre-Pickup Inspection. To protect you from damage claims, it is important to give the car hauler an accurate assessment of the car’s overall condition, including chips and scratches in the glass.

ShipCarsNow is a federally licensed transportation broker, arranging and coordinating auto transport on your behalf with quality, insured car haulers. Ultimately, the motor carrier, railroad, ocean vessel operator or driveaway service provider contracted by ShipCarsNow is responsible for any damage caused by their handling of your vehicle, subject to certain limitations. We will work to resolve your claim equitably and seek recovery against any carrier who may have caused damage.
All licensed car haulers are required by Federal law and ShipCarsNow to maintain cargo damage liability insurance, but their insurance coverage may be subject to certain maximum liability limitations. ShipCarsNow requires our carriers (except for ocean vessel operators and railroad carriers) to provide proof of insurance issued by a licensed insurance provider. Limits of insurance must be equal to the greater of the replacement cost of the freight being transported or $250,000 for any one occurrence in addition to cargo insurance required by applicable State or Federal laws and must cover all risk of loss and damage to property of others in Contractor’s care, custody, and control. The liability coverage of ocean vessel operators and railroad carriers utilized by ShipCarsNow will vary based on each such carrier's public tariffs or private documents as applicable.
ShipCarsNow has established processes to ensure that only reputable and insured car haulers handle your automobiles. For more details, please refer to the ShipCarsNow Shipper Agreement and the Claims and Inspection Management Manual. If you have specific concerns or questions about cargo liability for your shipments, call us at 1-866-207-3360 or email us at claims@shipcarsnow.com, and reference the subject: Liability.
The person receiving the vehicle should immediately and thoroughly inspect the vehicle and note any damage that may be transportation related on the Proof-of-Delivery ("POD") receipt presented by the car hauler before signing the receipt. This process ensures that the car hauler acknowledges the damage. You must then notify ShipCarsNow within two business days of the discovered transportation loss or damage and we will file a claim with the responsible car hauler on your behalf. Again, it is very important that both the driver and the receiver of the vehicle acknowledge all suspected transportation damage on the Proof-of-Delivery (POD) receipt. It is very difficult to prove that damage to a vehicle is a result of transportation when there is no record of any damage noted at time of delivery. Given adequate proof of transportation related damage, ShipCarsNow will seek to resolve your claim in a prompt and equitable manner to recover compensation from the carrier or carriers involved. For additional details, please reference ShipCarsNow’s Shipper Agreement, email registration@shipcarsnow.com, or call 1-866-207-3360 with your questions.

Most auto shipping vessels have predetermined departure dates. Depending on the date when your vehicles are available for pick up, and their current location, as well as space availability on the ship, the vehicles will be scheduled on the next available sailing date. Your assigned sailing date takes into account the transit time from the origin pick up location to the U.S. exit port, including customs processing time.
ShipCarsNow provides international auto shipping quotes which give auto shippers both economy and standard shipping options to the U.S. exit port. Vessel departure dates are subject to change and are not guaranteed by ShipCarsNow, however, we will do our best to manage to your desired delivery date.
Standard transport is door-to-port auto transport using the service providing the fastest delivery to the point of export. Economy transport is door-to-port auto transport using a multimodal combination of rail and truck service for lowest cost delivery to the point of export.

No. ShipCarsNow recommends that you do not leave any personal belongings in the vehicle. The Department of Transportation does not legally allow for the transport of household goods (personal belongings) in vehicles being transported on auto carriers. Not only are auto shipping and car transport companies not insured for household goods, it is against the law for them to transport anything except your vehicle. The auto shipping and car transport truck is subject to inspection by the DOT and the Police at every state line and can be fined up to $10,000 if found to be carrying household goods. The car is subject to being impounded and all fines and expenses will be passed along to the owner of the car. Under NO circumstances can the car contain firearms, hazardous materials, illegal substances, or contraband.

ShipCarsNow transports vehicles overseas on “Roll on, Roll off” (RoRo) ships. A RoRo vessel is specially design to transport wheeled cargo such as automobiles, trucks and semi-trailers that are driven onto the vessel on their own wheels. Vehicles are driven up ramps onto the ship and safely secured under deck with straps and wheel chocks. By rolling a vehicle on board these vessels and rolling it off at its destination, shippers can reduce the number of times their cargo is handled, thus reducing the chance for damage. Under deck storage protect the vehicles from potential salt and water damage.
